What's the Point of Anti-Summit Protests?

Open discussion in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, May 13th, to assess where the anti-capitalist movement's going. Participants will be attending the next EU, G8, WEF and WTO summits.

Is anti-capitalism anything more than anti-summit protests?
Do these protests have an effect, and if so what exactly is it?
Why do we go to them?

Individuals planning to attend upcoming counter-summits against the European Union, G8, WEF and World Trade Organisation, take some time out to discuss what they hope to achieve.
